The use of electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles is growing strongly; the numbers of charging points installed has grown seven–fold over the last six years and is forecast to grow by ten times in the next five years. The current percentage of new cars registered each year which are electric or hybrid is 2%, this is forecast to rise to 10% by 2022.
